The School of The Built Environment today held an award to recognize class representatives from its various departments. The event which was graced by the college principle, dean and various chairs of departments was meant to recognize the good work the class representatives were doing by awarding them with certificates.
The school also took this opportunity to introduce the new student counselor Dr. Ngigi G. N who is based within the school. Dr. Ngigi encouraged the students to reach out to him whenever they had any issues and promised to help them out.
In his opening remarks, the dean of students, school of the built environment said the awards were as a sign of appreciation for the good work the representatives were doing. He urged them to continue with the good work they were doing.
The principal on the other hand congratulated the students and encouraged them to solve any issues they had amicably. He told the students that the college had enough funds to take care of the various projects needed to improve their academic stay in the university such as improved internet connectivity. He further stated that the university was committed to solving all issues pertaining to students whether academic or personal. He continued to thank the class representatives and told them that this was a good platform to learn and practice good leadership skills.
The vote of thanks was given by the Assistant Dean of Students Mrs. Margaret Mumera who informed the students about an upcoming counseling clinic during the month of March.
