The Department of Architecture, wishes to invite you to the University of Nairobi's third session of their online webinar and debate series on Digital Infrastructural Urbanism(s): Asia–Africa Encounters and Beyond. The theme of this session will be "Bottom-up Urbanism and Digital Infrastructure".

There will be two invited speakers for this session, who will each address the theme from their respective research contexts.
Saanchi Saxena (DIST-Interuniversity Department of Regional & Urban Studies and Planning, Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy) will speak about "Colliding Futures and Digital Desires: Street Vending and Bottom-Up Urbanism in Mumbai"
Arianna J. King (Postdoctoral Fellow, Trinity College, USA) will speak about "Beyond Bottom-Up: Urban Identity and the Uneven Geography of Digital Urbanisms and Infrastructure in Ghana"

This webinar series explores how digital infrastructures are reshaping urban life across the Global South, from state-led platforms and corporate investments to everyday, bottom-up practices and popular economies. All sessions are open to urban practitioners, researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and early-career scholars across but not limited to architecture & planning, geography, urban studies, development, anthropology, and African & Asian studies.
