A high-level delegation from Tongji University's College of Architecture and Urban Planning recently visited the Faculty of Built Environment and Design, marking the first step towards a promising international partnership.
The meeting, hosted by The Dean, Prof. Owiti K'Akumu, joined by department heads Prof. Robert Rukwaro (Architecture) and Dr. Maurice Oyugi (Urban Planning), as well as Dr. Margaret Macharia from Department of Architecture. The visiting delegation included Prof. Min Tang and Dr. Rocky Wen. The discussions centered on potential joint ventures in research, student exchange, and curriculum development, aiming to combine Tongji's expertise in large-scale urban planning with UoN's localized knowledge of East African built environments. This partnership is poised to elevate training and research standards in both architecture and urban planning.
