Arch. Isaac Nyabwana, Arch Cosmas Busima, Quantity Surveyor Bramwell Kimokoti, and Prof. Stephen O. Diang’a paid a courtesy call to the Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment and Design on Tuesday, July 11, 2023! the four are alumni from the 1970s.
The alumni, who are all accomplished architects and quantity surveyors, came back to share their experiences and encourage 5th-year Architecture students. The Dean, Professor Lilac Osanjo, was thrilled to have them back on campus, and she thanked them for their contributions to the field of architecture.
Architect Isaac Nyabwana and Architect Cosmas Busima are both from Uganda. They came to the University of Nairobi in the 1970s to study architecture, because it was the only university in East Africa that offered the program at the time.
The other two alumni, Quantity Surveyor Bramwell Kimokoti and Prof. Stephen O. Diang’a have had successful careers in their respective fields and are now eager to pass on their knowledge to the next generation of architects and quantity surveyors.
The meeting with the alumni was a great success. The students were inspired by their stories, and they learned a lot about the challenges and rewards of a career in architecture. The alumni were also excited to see how much the program has grown since they were students.
This was a truly exciting event, and it is a testament to the strength of the Faculty of Built Environment and Design. The alumni's visit was a reminder of the school's rich history, and it gave the students a glimpse of the bright future that awaits them.
