Faculty of Built Environment and Design Staff Recognized for Performance and Community Impact

On Thursday, 26 February 2026, the Faculty of Built Environment and Design was among the units represented at the University’s 2024–2025 Staff Performance Appraisal Awards. The ceremony also marked the signing of the FY2025/2026 Performance Contracts. It was a moment that linked recognition to responsibility.

Across the University, 421 staff members were honored for attaining an “Excellent” rating in the 2023/2024 appraisal cycle. Of these, 221 were women and 200 men. Twelve colleagues received Long Service Awards for between 30 and 40 years of uninterrupted service.

University of Nairobi and New York University Urban Lab to Collaborate on Real Estate Studies

The Department of Real Estate, Construction Management and Quantity Surveying (RECMQS) is moving to formalize a new partnership with New York University (NYU).

On Wednesday, January 7, faculty members led by Chairman Arch. Peter Njeru met with Prof. Kwatinetz, Director of the NYU Urban Lab, at the Dean’s Office to discuss a collaboration focused on urban policy and real estate research.
