The 3rd Annual Africa Facilities Management Conference, held on November 16th and 17th, 2023, at the University of Nairobi, marked a pivotal moment in elevating facilities management practices across the continent. By assembling professionals, experts, and stakeholders from diverse African countries and international organizations, the conference provided an energetic platform for robust knowledge exchange, networking, and exploration of emerging trends and technologies.

Theme: Accelerating Facilities Management across Africa Towards Sustainability

The Department of Art and Design hosted the Design methodologies for job creation in Afrika on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023. The conference was part of the 6th edition of the Annual Research Week, which ran from October 23rd to 27th. The theme for this year’s research week was “Harnessing Research for Resilience and Sustainability of Communities.”

On Friday 27th October 2023, The Department of Real Estate Construction Management and Quantity Surveying will host the 1st 'Race to Net Zero: Decarbonizing ADD Building' Seminar from 2 pm- 5 pm at the ADD Building.

This event is part of the #UoNresearchweek, organized by the University of Nairobi, dedicated to advancing the mission of decarbonization and sustainability.

The Department of Art and Design will host The Design Methodologies for Job Creation in Afrika conference on Tuesday 24th October 2023 at the UoN Tower, 4th Flr Room 401 from 8am-1pm. #UoNresearchweek. This conference is part of the University of Nairobi Annual Research Week that will run from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th October 2023. 

The University of Nairobi (UoN) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) launched the Center for Urban-Rural Linkages in Africa (CURLA) on Friday, October 13, 2023. The center will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between urban and rural contexts, facilitating integrated and sustainable development.

On Friday, October 13, 2023, from 2 p.m., the University of Nairobi (UoN) and UN-Habitat will launch the Centre for Urban-Rural Linkages in Africa (CURLA) at the Chandaria Auditorium on the 6th floor of UoN Towers.

2023 VALEDICTORY SPEECH FOR THE 69TH GRADUATION CEREMONY – 22ND SEPTEMBER 2023

On September 22, 2023, the University of Nairobi held its 69th graduation ceremony, celebrating the Class of 2023. As is tradition, the ceremony was presided over by the outgoing Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi, and the Chief Guest was the Principal Secretary of Higher Education, Dr. Beatrice Inyangala.
