The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all students who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of last academic year (2024/2025) and members of the public, that the 73rd Graduation Ceremony will be held PHYSICALLY on Friday, September 19, 2025, commencing at 7.30 a.m. at the Chancellor’s Court. The Department of Architecture hosted the 12th Annual East Africa Architecture Workshop and Exhibition from 25th to 28th August 2025 at ADD Building, Faculty of Built Environment and Design. The event explored the theme “Understanding the Concept of Sustainability in the Built Environment Today.”

 In collaboration with the Hasso Plattner d-school Afrika at UCT, Ashesi University, KNUST, American University in Cairo, University of Dar es Salaam, we’re building a trans-African learning network that empowers students with creative, human-centred problem-solving skills.

A total of 81 students from the faculty were prominently recognized during the University of Nairobi’s Students’ Recognition Ceremony held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Taifa Hall.  The students were honored for excellence in academics, sports, leadership, and service. Otieno John Odoyo was named Best Overall Final Year Student.

“The engine of GIS is DATA—clean, credible data,” declared Vihiga Governor and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) expert, H.E. Dr. Wilber K. Ottichilo, as he delivered a powerful public lecture to students and faculty at the University of Nairobi on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. His address explored the vital link between data-driven governance and sustainable urban development, offering a compelling look at GIS as a tool for equitable transformation.

The Department of Urban and Regional Planning wishes to invite you to a public lecture by H.E. Dr. Wilberfoce Ottichilo E.G.H. whose theme will be "Transforming Vihiga County through GIS".

Interesting weeks are drawing to a close for the RESPIRA-ABEP project and Dr Margaret N. Macharia Kedogo from the University of Nairobi, as the KU Leuven alumna completes her Mobility Fellowship with visits to Leuven, Leiden and Madrid.  

The University of Nairobi Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)  has announced the Elections for Faculties and Campus Students Association on Wednesday March 26, 2025. The Commission has also released election timelines for the next one month up to the date of the elections. Click here to download the timelines
