Cynthia Wahito Ndegwa: Valedictorian Class of 2022

I am delighted to welcome you to the University of Nairobi for the 67th Graduation ceremony. Today we honor graduates of the Class of 2022 for their academic achievements during their time at The University of Nairobi. Your diligence, perseverance, and hard work have paid off and it is the reason we gather here today. A big Congratulations to us all!

Orientation: Dean's Address to 1st years

The Faculty of Built Environment and Design of held an orientation meeting for first-year students on Wednesday, 21st September 2022 from 9 am to 12 pm at Space 108. The First year students reported to the Faculty on 19th September 2022; this session was organized to officially welcome first-year students to the faculty and offer essential guidance concerning the resources available to support their academic journey.

New students: Admission and Orientation Week 2022

The University of Nairobi will admit the First Year students for the 2022/2023 Academic Year on Monday 19th September 2022. The University has lined up a series of activities for the Orientation week to introduce the freshmen to University life and the rich culture of the University of Nairobi.

Schedule of activities: 

Monday 19th to Sunday 25th September 2022: Biometric Registration and Orientation Week

Tuesday 20th September 2022: Students commence Course Registration for two weeks

Supplementary and Special Examinations (online)

The Faculty will administer supplementary exams to those students who failed to reach the pass mark in accordance with programme regulations and special exams to students who missed regular exams. The exam period will run from Monday 18th July – Friday 29th July 2022. Please note the exams will be conducted virtually. The departments will send out examination links to the students before the exam date.

Site Visit: Ceramic Project

Wednesday, July 6, 2022: The Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Works (SDPW) Mr. Solomon Kitungu toured the Faculty of Built Environment and Design for a demonstration of the ceramic toilet (Ngisi Toilet Project) designed and developed by a research team from the Department of Art and Design. The delegation from the State Department for Public Works was received by the university management team led by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama, The Dean, Faculty of Built Environment and Design, Prof.
