The University of Nairobi is pleased to announce the 8th Edition of its Research Week, scheduled to run from October 28 to November 1, 2024. This year's theme, “Harnessing Research for Resilience and Sustainability of Communities,” reflects our commitment to addressing contemporary global challenges through innovative research.
Stakeholders from diverse sectors gathered at the University of Nairobi Towers on May 15th, 2024, for a vital dissemination workshop to enhance disability-inclusive urban transport systems in Accra and Nairobi. This event, organized around the research project "SITUATE-2: Removing Barriers To Foster Disability-Inclusive Urban Transport Systems in Accra And Nairobi," marked a significant milestone in addressing accessibility challenges faced by persons with disabilities (PWDs) in public transportation.

Introduction and Aims of the Workshop:
The University of Nairobi will host the 8th Edition of the Nairobi Innovation Week from 8th to 10th May 2024 under the theme "Strengthening the Innovation Ecosystem through Government-Industry-Academia Linkages for Sustainable Development."

This prestigious event acknowledges and rewards outstanding students who have consistently demonstrated exceptional performance in academics, research, leadership, and various extracurricular activities.
On Monday, April 15th, 2024, the Department of Art and Design at the University of Nairobi hosted a public lecture on the future of the fashion industry, focusing on sustainability and ethical practices. The event featured two distinguished speakers: Mr. Carlo D'Amario, CEO of the renowned Vivienne Westwood luxury fashion brand, and Mr. Simone Cipriani, Chief Technical Advisor of the Ethical Fashion Initiative.
In a recent collaboration between the Construction and Real Estate Student Association (CRESA) and the Department of Real Estate, Construction Management, and Quantity Survey (RECMQS), students from the Faculty of Built Environment and Design enjoyed a captivating lecture by Associate Professor Francois Viruly. With over two decades of experience as a renowned property economist from the University of Cape Town, Professor Viruly's insights into Urban Land Economics, Property Finance, and Portfolio Management added immense value to our community.
The University of Nairobi Student Association (UNSA) elections for the 2024-2025 academic year were held on March 27th, 2024. The elections saw Team Anchor emerge victorious in the Faculty of Built Environment and Design.
